Lace Knitting Class at The Wool Shop

Learn how to thoughtfully place holes in your knitting!
This course is designed to teach the basics of lace knitting using fine yarn. We’ll start with a small sampler teaching what constitutes lace knitting, how to read a chart, understand pattern repeats and tips to make life easier. Then we progress to knitting a simple pair of fingerless mitts using luxurious cashmere and possum yarn.
- Cost: $170 for 4 x 2-hour sessions. Includes yarn to knit sampler and mitts, pattern and notes.
- Dates: Wednesdays – 24th March, 7th & 21 April, 5th May, 6 pm to 8 pm
- What to bring: your knitting kit including pen, paper, 4 ply waste yarn, scissors, stitch markers, set of 2.25 and 2.75mm double pointed needles and pair of 3mm needles.
- Skills required: know how to cast on, bind off, knit and purl – just the basics!
All our classes need a minimum of 3 people to proceed, with a maximum of 6 per class (Tips & Techniques maximum of 8).
They will be held at the shop: 58 Main Road, Moonah.
