Cables and Twists Class at The Wool Shop
Richly textured cables and twists are a feature of many knitting cultures. Come and explore some different types, from basic ropes, travelling cables and twists to simple Celtic style cables.
We’ll start with easy cables knitting a pair of warm, cosy finger-less mitts then, progress to a larger cable design in knitting a cowl. Learn chart reading skills, how to hold a cable needle and much more.
- Cost: $170 for 4 x 2-hour sessions. Includes 1 ball of luxurious Zealana 8 ply possum and merino yarn for finger-less mitts, patterns and notes.
- Dates: Wednesdays – 7th and 21st July, 4th and 18th August, 6pm to 8pm
- What to bring: pen and paper, your knitting kit and 3.75mm and 4mm double pointed needles
- Skills required: know how to cast on, bind off, knit and purl – just the basics!
